Title A name given to the resource Eriksbergskranen Description An account of the resource Eriksbergskranen på Hisingen i Göteborg är den enda bevarade i sitt slag. Den användes ursprungligen vid byggandet av stora fartyg men fungerar numera mest som en Göteborgssymbol utan annan funktion. År 1876 bildades Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstad AB som tillverkade produkter av järn och gjutgods. Senare blev fartygsproduktion den helt dominerande verksamheten. På 1920-talet utökades varvet med nya bäddar och flytdockor. Bockkranen stod klar 1969 och var en del av en stor utbyggnad av den byggdocka som varit i drift på varvet sedan 1959. Den uppfördes som ett komplement till monteringskranarna utmed dockans sidor. Med denna kran kunde man montera fartyg som vägde uppemot 500 000 ton. Kranen, som byggdes i Köln i Tyskland, är 80 meter hög och 1 750 ton tung. Bockkranen på Eriksbergsvarvet fick en kort karriär. Under 1970-talet hamnade varvsindustrin i en internationell kris och 1977 bildades Svenska varv som övertog de svenska storvarven. Varvsepoken var över och varven i Göteborg lades ned kring år 1979. Under början av 2000-talet omvandlades det gamla varvsområdet till ett bostadsområde. Eriksbergskranen ingår närmast som en skulptur i området, och är numera skyddad som byggnadsminne. Title A name given to the resource Fåglaviks station Description An account of the resource Utbyggnaden av järnvägsnätet var av stor betydelse för Sveriges omdaning från bondesamhälle till modernt industrisamhälle. Fåglaviks station uppfördes 1856 enligt ritningar av SJs dåvarande chefsarkitekt Adolf Edelsvärd enligt den så kallade Partillemodellen. Den fick en placering där den nya järnvägen korsade vägen mellan Borås och Skara. Kring stationen uppstod ett litet samhälle, som blev en knutpunkt för spannmålshandel. Än idag har Fåglaviks stationshus kvar det utseende det hade då det första loket anlände till platsen. Det är numera det enda bevarade i hela landet av sitt slag. Unikt är att hela stationsmiljön finns kvar med stationshus, uthus, jordkällare och trädgård. Riksantikvarieämbetet har föreslagit att Fåglaviks station ska bli statligt byggnadsminne på grund av de höga kulturhistoriska värdena på platsen. I närheten av stationen anlades på 1870-talet ett glasbruk som kom att få mycket stor betydelse för Fåglavik under ett drygt sekel. Bruket anlades just här eftersom kommunikationerna tack vare järnvägen var goda, men också för att det i närheten fanns stora mossar. I torvmossarna bröt man torv som torkades och användes som bränsle i glashyttornas ugnar. Till en början tillverkades framför allt slipade och oslipade småglas och flaskor vid Fåglaviks glasbruk, senare över gick man till fotogenbelysningsglas, flaskor och hushållsglas. Glasbruket hade flera hundra anställda när det var som störst. Det lades emellertid ner 1978, och merparten av de många byggnader som uppförts med koppling till bruket revs i september 2007. Vid platsen för bruket finns numera en minnessten. Sevärd är även den välbevarade Bruksvillan från 1875 som byggdes av brukspatronen A M Andersson. glasbruk stationsbyggnad
