                <text>GASKLOCKAN FD GASVERKET, GULLBERGSVASS, GÖTEBORG&#13;
Gasklockan är en torrgasbehållare.  Den består av en bottenvåning av betong, 3 meter invändig höjd, samt en cylinderformad överdel i 5 mm plåt. Gasklockan har formen av en regelbunden 20-hörning där stommen utgörs av vertikala ståndare och däremellan insatta plåtar. Inuti plåtcylindern rörde sig en skiva som vilade på gasen. Skivan är försedd med styranordningar. Högst upp vid takfoten sitter ett band av fönster. Gasklockan är cirka 80 meter hög och innehåller ett stort cylinderformat rum som får sitt dagsljus genom en rad fönster uppe vid taket.&#13;
Gasklockan, Gasbehållare 1, uppfördes 1932-1933 och ersatte då ett flertal uttjänta gasklockor på Gullbergsvass. Den levererades av Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nurnberg, MAN, i Mainz med Götaverken som underleverantör. Då den byggdes var den Göteborgs högsta byggnad. Principen för denna typ av gasklockor utvecklades 1915 av MAN.&#13;
På tomten stod fram till 1995 även en mindre gasklocka. Den var en våtgasklocka byggd 1918, 50 meter i diameter och ungefär hälften så hög som Gasbehållare 1.&#13;
Gasklockan planeras att rivas under 2016.&#13;

                <text>Lerums nuvarande centrum har ingen lång historia som tätort. Fram till järnvägens utbyggnad vid 1800-talets mitt var Lerum ren landsbygd med gårdar, åkrar och ängar. Lerums by låg samlad i närheten av kyrkan, en knapp kilometer nordost om det nya centrat. På 1950-talet växte Lerums befolkning i snabb takt. Behovet av en centrumbebyggelse och en byggnad för kommunens förvaltning var stort. En arkitekttävling anordnades där uppdraget var att utforma ett förslag till centrumbebyggelse med plats för handel, bostäder och kontor. Som ett resultat uppfördes Bagges torg år 1959 med kommunhus, butiker och bostäder. Järnvägen ansågs inte längre som det viktigaste kommunikationsmedlet, därför vänder torget baksidan till järnvägsstationen och öppnar istället upp sig mot andra hållet. Byggnaderna visar med sin anspråkslösa karaktär på 1950-talets stilideal, och tillsammans fungerar de som en påminnelse om den stora expansion och framtidstro som fanns i slutet av 1950 och början på 1960-talet. </text>
