Title A name given to the resource Agnesberg Description An account of the resource Området Agnesberg har varit viktigt för transporter över Göta Älv till Hisingen åtminstone sedan 1600-talet. Fram till 1820 fanns här en bro som ledde över till Orrekulla skans. Efter 1820 sköttes transporterna med linfärja fram till 1978 när Angeredsbron och Norrleden gjorde färjan överflödig. Platsen har också kallats Nyebro och färjan Nyebro färja. Här inträffade 1998 ett undervattensskred i älven vid den branta slänten mellan den långgrunda älvbotten och djuprännan. Undervattenskredet utlöste ett bakåtgripande skred som tog med sig en del av älvstranden. Efter skredet förstärktes de branta undervattensslänterna utanför Agnesberg och Gårdsten med stödfyllningar. 31 Maj 1877 öppnade Bergslagernas Järnvägar trafiken mellan Göteborg och Trollhättan med en station i Agnesberg. Detta gjorde att en rad industrier kunde anläggas i området Agnesberg-Steken. Stationshuset invigdes 1879 och ersattes av ett nytt stationshus 1944, det gamla användes därefter som banvaktarstuga. Stationen stängdes 1970. Redan innan järnvägen tillkom fanns här Stekens Tegelbruk, som hämtade råmaterialet på en egen smalspårig järnväg. Dorch-Bäcksin & Co startade här färgtillverkning 1898, 1964 övertogs verksamheten av AB Wilh. Becker. Färgtillverkning pågick till 1970-talet, man fortsatte en tid efter att tillverka ljuddämpningsmaterial åt bilindustrin under namnet Becker Akustik. Tomten är en av de mest förorenade i regionen med stora mängder kemikalier som riskerat att rinna ut i Göta Älv och hota Göteborgs dricksvatten. I samband med byggen har dock delar av den sanerats. Där bilskroten ligger låg Axa Kvarn. Kvarnen startades 1901 av P O Stockebye som tidigare bedrivit kvarnverksamhet i Lödöse. I början sålde man även amerikanskt fläsk utöver spannmålsprodukter. 1922 tar man över tillverkningen av Gyllenhammars havregryn. På Hisingssidan låg från 1915 Sverres varv som tillverkade fartygsmodeller, bland annat är många av modellerna på Sjöfartsmuseet tillverkade där. Efter 1923 minskar efterfrågan och man börjar också tillverka leksaker. 1931 börjar man också tillverka riktiga båtar och den verksamheten expanderar kraftigt 1939 under Jan-Olof Traungs ledning. Man tillverkar då exempelvis fiskebåtar, minsvepare och yachter. 1953 upphörde tillverkningen av båtar och 1993 lades även modelltillverkningen ner. Den sista innehavaren var Tekla Larsson, som bodde kvar till 1961. Den visar, liksom Kvarnbacken, levnadsvilloren för en mindre torpare och backstugusittare vid slutet av 1800-talet. Stugan genomgick en omfattande renovering på 1980-talet. Title A name given to the resource Kvarnbacken Description An account of the resource Ryggåsstugan Kvarnbacken ligger på Södra Råns skogsmark i Ödeborgs socken och är en väl bibehållen torpsstuga från 1800-talet. Den har varit bebodd från 1830-talet till omkring 1973. De sista ägarna var syskonen Hulda och Axel Hybert, som skänkte stugan till hembygdsföreningen. Den visar levnadsvillkoren för mindre torpare och backstugusittare vid slutet av 1800-talet. Medlemmar från närområdet ser till och vårdar stugan, som är öppen för allmänheten och ett populärt utflyktsmål. Title A name given to the resource Ödeborgs Fornsal Description An account of the resource Fornsalen i Ödeborg  är vackert belägen på en kulle med utsikt över Valbodalen och Ödeborgs samhälle. Museibyggnaden stod färdig 1913 och är uppförd i götisk stil i tidens nationalromantiska anda. Den bekostades av personer med rötter i bygden och av Ödeborgs Bruk. Fornsalen är ett av landskapets mest välförsedda museer med över 6.000 dalsländska föremål från den förindustriella tiden. Bland föremålen märks altartavlan från 1600-taletsom, som har stått i Färgelanda gamla kyrka och dessförinnan i Uddevalla gamla kyrka. Här förvaras också en bila (yxa) som sägs ha använts vid den sista avrättningen i Valbo härad år 1830. Intressant är även ett dockskåp som barnen på Stigens Herrgård lekte med vid 1900-talets början. Det senaste tillskottet till samlingarna är ett hundskinn av den utdöda dalbohunden. Besök fornsalen efter överenskommelse med vaktmästaren Kurt Aronsson, telefon 0528-710 10. Avgift. Vid Fornsalen finns bilparkering. Den är även ett utmärkt resmål för bussresor. Bussparkering finns vid Folkets Hus. Därifrån är det cirka 250 meters promenad till Fornsalen. We speak English. Title A name given to the resource Södra Valbo Hembygdsförening Description An account of the resource Södra Valbo Hembygdsförening bildades år 1906 på initiativ av bland annat folkskollärare Anders Linder, den kulturhistoriskt intresserade Thure Langer, Dalslands folkhögskoleförening med flera. Södra Valbo Hembygdsförening är en av de äldsta hembygdsföreningarna i landet och är verksam i södra delen av Färgelanda kommun samt Valbo-Ryr. Vi är för närvarande ungefär 120 medlemmar. Föreningen äger hembygdsgården Blanketorpet i Färgelanda, museet Fornsalen i Ödeborg, ryggåsstugan Kvarnbacken i Södra Rån i Ödeborg, och Teklas stuga, Parkane i Torp.
