Sågverk vid stranden av Stora Lee
Description

Redan i början av 1700-talet uppfördes den första sågen vid Stora Lees strand. Det var i Lennartsfors och företaget startade i norsk regi. I 1800-talets mitt sattes två sågar upp vid Strömmen i Rävmarken och en i Bomarken, båda med norska ägare.
Under senare delen av 1800-talet sattes den så kallade Storsågen upp vid Lee och detta var början till det som kom att bli Lee Bruk. Även den sågen drevs av norrmän, två söner till sågverksägaren Hans LÓranges.
Storsågen vid Lee var en ångsåg, den första vid Stora Lee. Ytterligare två sågar var verksamma vid Lee men efter hand uppköptes de av norska Saugbruksföreningen. Efter 1938 fanns endast ett sågverk kvar vid Lee, det som kom att bli Lee Bruk.
Sågverket vid Lee var en pålitlig och trygg arbetsplats för många människor genom en lång tid ända tills sågverket ödelades av brand och en hundraårig epok av sågverksindustri vid stranden av Stora Lee tog slut.
