Vid vägens södra ände finns en äldre stenvalvsbro. &#13;

                <text>Ringön är ett småskaligt industriområde beläget intill Göta älv i Göteborg, mitt emot den historiska stadskärnan. Som flera andra hamnområden i staden anlades Ringön i samband med att vassområden kring Göta älv utdikades under 1870- och 80-talen (1).  Till att börja med var detta verkligen en ö, omsluten av en kanal i norr och med fyra hamnbassänger i söder i anslutning till Göta älv. Området var länge tillgängligt endast med båt eller järnväg, över en bro. Från stora fartyg längre ut i Göteborgs hamn fördes råvaror på pråmar dragna av bogserbåtar in till områden i grannskapet kring Ringön där de bearbetades i olika verkstäder. Råvaruhantering och underhåll pågick lokalt kring älven nära stadskärnan och i specifikt Ringön låg förtöjda pråmar, pråmvarv och enkla lagringsställen. Brandrisken var stor. &#13;
&#13;
Till följd av containeriseringen har förädlingen av produkter kommit att ske i de länder där tillverkningskostnaderna och lönerna är som lägst och vi ser inte längre upplag med råvaror och halvfabrikat kring älven. Under 1950-talet fylldes kanalen kring Ringön igen och området fick en stadsplan med gator och kvarter för fortsatt industriell expansion. Främst etableras småverkstäder och lager. Två decennier senare bedömdes Ringön ha varit ett välfungerande område ”utan utvecklingsproblem” (2).  &#13;
&#13;
Andra industriområden på norra älvstranden som var uppväxta kring varvsindustrin drabbades hårt av 1970-talets oljekris i kombination med strukturella förändringar i den industriella sektorn. Stora ytor efter norra älvstranden övergavs men sedan 1980-talet har Göteborgs stad använt dessa för ny bebyggelse och försökt omvandla stadens image från tung industriell karaktär till en blandstad av renare och ljusare snitt för kunskapsindustri och vattennära bostäder. Den här älvstrandenutvecklingen närmar sig nu stadens mitt. Näst i tur för omvandling står områden i anslutning till den historiska stadskärnan; dels södra älvstranden strax väster om kärnan, dels Frihamnen belägen mitt emot den senare. &#13;
&#13;
Ringön som ligger granne med Frihamnen kommer påverkas direkt genom att Götaälvbron ska bytas ut och den nya brons fäste anläggas mer mot öster på Hisingssidan och ta några kvarter av Ringön i anspråk. Resten av Ringön sägs ha en planeringshorisont på ytterligare tjugo år. Men i och med att kvarteren kring den nya bron kommer få kontor och möjligen bostäder, kan det tänkas att acceptansen för vilka verksamheter som fortsatt kan vara kvar i Ringön blir lägre. &#13;

              <text>&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;-Där var ju så giftig luft så pengarna blev kolsvarta i plånboken!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;Det var ju svavelsyra och saltsyra och sådana grejer som var i luften. Och fick man några droppar på overallen så blev det stora hål i den! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;Så luktade det illa också, så det luktade ju om en när man slutade arbetet. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;Och alla yrkeskläder fick man stå för själv utom vid speciella tillfällen. Då fick man nästan krypa till ingenjören för att få en overall, det är ju inte klokt på en arbetsplats! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;Men man klagade ju aldrig, men i dagens läge hade det ju aldrig gått och haft sån arbetsmiljö. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt; &lt;span class="s1"&gt;-Jag hade 78 öre i timmen, jobbade 48 timmar i veckan. Varje lördag också sen så sänkte dom till 45 timmar, men då var du tvungen att jobba 48 timmar vissa veckor på året för att få ut sommarlediga lördagar. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt; &lt;span class="s1"&gt;-Alla smög ju sig när de mötte ingenjören [skratt] det kunde vara tjugo man i gången här men så fort de fick se ingenjören där borta så försvann alla! Det var ju samma med verkmästaren, verkstadskontoret hade stora glasrutor, då stod ju ingenjören där och kollade och precis framför hans fönster där hade vi vår arbetsbänk och då kunde man ju inte bara stå med händerna i fickorna utan då fick man alltid plocka med någonting! Sånt var det då på den tiden, men de klagade aldrig.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt; &lt;span class="s1"&gt;-Det var spinnbadet som innehöll syra och salter. Sen hade du ju där dom saltade ur spinnbadet i centrifugerna i huset dom rev (Vestindien) all vätskan släpptes ju direkt ut i Viskan och det var ingen som opponerade sig, det skulle bara va så. Det fanns ju ingen rening.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt; &lt;span class="s1"&gt;-Jag tror att det var farligare grejer här, sen vet ju inte jag vad väveribolaget här hade för grejer som de släppte ut här. Men Konstsilke var nog de värsta tror jag i och med det var så mycket syror, saltsyra, svavelsyra och allting sånt då, så det gick ju ut mycket i Viskan.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt; &lt;span class="s1"&gt;- Men det var mycket bra gemenskap det var det! Sen var det ju många som var rättvisa, det var inte lönt att vara otrevlig på något sätt för då blev en nertagen på jorden direkt.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;Sen när en var så ung fick en anpassa sig efter dom äldre så en kunde ju aldrig svara emot.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;Sen fanns det ju ställen där man smög sig undan ibland [skratt]. Sen hände det ju alltid saker, det var gemenskap, det var ju, de spelade whist på rasterna och då om en annan kom in som utfyllnad fick en ju massa skäll om en tabbade sig i kortspelet.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;em&gt;Citaten kommer från en intervju med Roger Fransson gjord 2015. &lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;em&gt;Roger arbetade i verkstaden på Konstsilke när han var tonåring i slutet på 1950-talet. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;em&gt;Det han minns bäst idag och som han också saknade mest när han slutade var gemenskapen bland arbetskamraterna. Själv var han yngst men här arbetade många killar i 20-årsåldern. Konstsilke var då en mansdominerad arbetsplats till skillnad från många andra textilindustrier.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</text>
