Det blir viktigt att visa förändringar över tid med byggnader som redovisar tidslager på ett tydligt och pedagogiskt sätt. -Det är dock viktigt att påpeka att traditionen inom ett industriområde som Simonsland är ständiga förändringar och anpassningar efter nya förhållanden och denna process bör naturligtvis få fortsätta även i framtiden. Det bör dock ske med ett synsätt som har sin grund i att berika och berätta om området och staden Borås snarare än i att, som tidigare, skapa ett väl fungerande skal kring en rationell industriproduktion. -Fabriksbyggnaden utgör idag en av landets största och mest spektakulära funkisbyggnader från sin tid och måste behandlas i detta perspektiv. Byggnaden ingår som en viktig del i det arbete som Borås Stad sedan många år bedrivit med att lyfta fram och tydliggöra det rika bestånd av byggnader i funktionalistisk stil som den enormt framgångrika perioden i stadens historia har lämnat efter sig. Med detta arbete som bakgrund framstår bevarandet av industribyggnaden för AB Svenskt Konstsilke som oerhört viktig ur många aspekter. -AB Svenskt Konstsilke är en verksamhet som varit en av symbolerna för stadens framgång. SKS har tillsammans med andra dominerande textilföretag utgjort basen för den lokala och sociala identiteten. Fabriksbyggnaderna innehåller bra och unika lokaler med historiskt djup. Med sitt centrala läge har de under ett drygt århundrade utgjort en central del av boråsarnas verklighet och kan därför tjäna som prisma för att belysa det moderna samhällets historia. En varsam ombyggnad är en nödvändighet för att denna funktion ska bli möjlig. <h2 class="p1">Efter</h2> -Det var ett stort projekt med många inblandade och då riskerar den där lilla finkänsligheten att gå förlorad, det är ju baksidan av ett så här stort projekt, det är lätt att tappa den antikvariska nivån. -Det finns en låg acceptans för det skeva och nötta i Borås om man jämför med större städer. Det blir lite för fixat och tillrättalagt för att man ska kunna få den där känslan av autentisk närvaro av en ruff industri.
