I takt med att elnätet byggdes ut under 1920- och 30-talen tillkom eldrivna kvarnar. Det är en så kallad hättkvarn där malningen skedde mellan två runda stenskivor och där kvarnens översta del, hättan, kan vridas för att anpassas till vindriktningen. Det är lätt att förstå placeringen av väderkvarnen på en blåsig liten höjd, särskilt om träden som numera står runt kvarnen räknas bort. Platsen är känd som en kvarnplats även tidigare. Idag är Burås kvarn byggnadsminne.
